Stills from Radicle City (II)

Radicle City (II) is an experimental documentary which unearths the historic relationship between Bangalore’s botanical garden and Kew Gardens in London. Weaving together archival material gathered in Kew’s archives, and the archives of the Chelsea Physic Garden, with interviews, oral histories and personal reflections, the film exposes the botanic gardens as ghostly blueprints for the workings of the city today: a hyper-capitalist, globalised metropolis and India’s “Silicon Valley”, a city at the heart of the amoral technocracy which powers Modi’s digital India.
